The Maritime English Instructors Course was held at the Maritime Safety Administration Examination Centre in Shanghai, China 22 October – 1 November 2003.

The objective of the course commissioned by the IMO, was to upgrade the professional training skills of maritime English instructors from maritime institutions throughout China.

The aims were to :

– ensure that participants improved their understanding of the training principles that inform the methododlogy of Model Course 3.17 Maritime English

– develop the participants’ ability to deliver training based on communicative language teaching priciples

-help participants to adapt the principles and methodology to their own teachng contexts.

-Development of ISF Marlins Test Version 3 and Test of Spoken English.
